Traditional fire detection relies on heat or smoke reaching a physical sensor, which by definition means the fire has already progressed to the point of generating enough heat or particulate to trip that threshold. In open, large, or irregularly shaped industrial spaces, that can mean meaningful delay between ignition and detection, time that matters enormously in an emergency response scenario.
AiVision360's Fire Detection uses computer vision models to identify visual indicators of fire directly within a camera's field of view, generating an alert the moment those indicators appear on screen, independent of whether a physical sensor has been triggered yet. Because this runs on the same camera infrastructure already covering a site for PPE, intrusion, and other detection types, fire detection adds an entirely additional layer of coverage without requiring separate hardware, dedicated sensor installation, or a standalone monitoring system to manage alongside everything else.
Fire detection can be assigned specifically to a site's higher-risk zones — control rooms, chemical storage, flare stacks, engine rooms — wherever fire risk is elevated and early visual warning matters most.
